Description:
Evangelist, John: Scene, Devil Stealing Inkpot On the shore of Patmos, the devil spills (?) ink from an inkpot hung around the neck of an eagle. Evangelist John, holding a quill in his right hand, is seated at right with an open book his on lap. The Virgin Mary, with joined(?) hands, appears in a mandorla above the city in the background.
The argins are decorated with foliate and floreate ornament, including thistles and strawberries. In the lower margin, a monogram of the initials A and P are linked by a love knot. Text, Gospel Sequence.
