Inscribed on verso of lining, at upper right, in brown ink, "Barnard / 1787"; at center of lower edge, in another hand, in brown ink, remnants of letters, "PI". On verso of mount, Richardson's pressmarks, in brown ink, "Q 53 / AA. 32 / A #25 / J [or "T"]e.45 / A. #52 / C".
