Inscribed on mount, at lower center, in pen and brown ink, "Rafaelle d'Urbino / in Firenza / Veduto Fra: Bartolomeo"; on verso of mount, at lower right, Kühlen mark, in pen and brown ink, "41".

Prince Johann Georg zu Sachsen, Dresden (no mark; Lugt 1466); unidentified collector's mark K.S. in purple (Kühlen?), his number Nr. 405; Kühlen (purple stamp, his number 41); Galerie Fischer, Lucerne; from whom purchased in 1963 by János Scholz, New York (no mark; see Lugt S. 2933b).
