Summary: 

Print shows a tall, slender man wearing a bonnet rouge with cockade; in one hand (at left) he holds a sabre, and in the other (at right), some shackles which he appears to be in the act of dropping on the ground, where another shackle lies at lower right; behind him is a fragment of a stone wall labeled, "Ruins of the Bastille", and sitting on top of it is a stack of books identified as "Mountesquieu", "Rousseau", "Voltaire", and "Paine".
