Unfortunately, "Tear 'em," a gigantic, shaggy, rough-coated, black-muzzled monster of the now fashionable St. Bernard breed(who has been left in the hall to watch over the house in their absence) does not recognise his master and mistress, and altogether fails to understand the situation.
