trimmed to plate size.
Unsigned line etching after a design by George Stubbs; this print is a different rendering of the same design included in a set of engravings by William Woollett after Stubbs, published by Thomas Bradford in 1769-1771 with the title "Shooting"; publisher Thomas Gosden also appears to have issued the set of four designs by Stubbs entitled "Partridge shooting" rendered in aquatint.

Summary:

Print shows two sportsmen with their dogs beside an old thatched watermill; one of the men is seated reloading his gun while the second man stands and applies a ramrod to his gun. Behind them is a rocky landscape of trees and water.
