One of seven plates on the French Expedition to Egypt by Gillray, purported to have been drawn by a fellow expedition member.
Summary:
Print shows a barefoot, pot-bellied Copt holding a mace or staff and riding on an ass which, though led processionally by a naked Copt, proceeds on account of the bayonet with which a grinning French soldier stabs its hind quarters.
