Napoleon visits Lambert. Lambert sits squarely in his bergére (r.), Napoleon (l.) stands in profile to the right., holding a vast plumed bicorne, his left hand on the hilt of a sabre whose sheath rests on the ground; he is thinner than in the more recent portraits. He says: "I contemplate this Wonder of the World & regret that all my Conquered Domains cannot Match this Man, Pray Sir are not you a descendant from the great Joss of China." Lambert answers: "No Sir, I am a true born Englishman from the County of Leicester, a quiet Mind and good Constitution nourished by the free Air of Great Britain makes every Englishman thrive." Beside him lies a bill: "Exhibition - Mr Danl Lambert one of the great wonders of the World at the Age of 36 Weigh'd 50 Stone 14 pounds to the Stone is 5 ft 11. high & 3 1/2 yds round in perfct Health and very Active - N° 53 Piccadilly - ."
