Pitt sits in profile to the right against the trunk of an aged and quasi-derelict tree inscribed 'Royal-Oak', his feet resting on a branch. He is eating a small crown held in his right hand, and is excreting upon the head of a sleeping boy seated on the ground leaning against the tree. The boy, 'Johnny', holds a horn-book inscribed 'John \ Bull \ A.B.C. \ D.E.F'.
