Drawing shows a group of Irish rebels, armed with axes and hammers, smashing the furniture and furnishing of a civilized drawing room, a man in a soldier's unifom playing on the piano with his fists as two of his comrades dance and carouse on the top of the instrument; with two graphite marginal sketches of dancing figures in the margin at right.
