Drawing for an etched illustration for The miser's daughter, first published in volume II, chapter 13 of Ainsworth's novel as it originally appeared as a serial publication in Ainsworth's Magazine, Volume I, 1842.

Drawing shows a scene in Marylebone Gardens; a gathering of elegantly dressed figures mingle amongst the tall slim trees lining the promenade in the garden, behind them a band plays from the Orchestra; in foreground a man stands looking shocked as he stares at an older gentleman and woman approaching from the right.
