Summary:
Eugene Berman is known for his Baroque-like stage set designs and his imaginary landscapes. In the present sheet, Berman drew a round face at the lower scalp of a person, whose own visage is not seen. Behind the face, the rear figure is bisected by lines, a device that Berman used elsewhere, for example in the Morgan's drawing Broken Mirror (2009.33).
