He waited till a stranger in the street had passed the window"; at upper right, "Please return original to to Edmund J. Sullivan A.R.W.S 18 Hill Road St. John's Wood, NW."; label on verso from the Pall Mall Magazine, addressed to the engraver, specifying that a line block is wanted, along with the dimensions, number of copies, date needed, and the title of the story for which the engraved block is needed.
