The drawing is a copy, probably by Karel La Fargue (1738-1793), after the painting by van der Neer formerly at both the Leger Galleries and the Richard Green Gallery, London, and later sold in New York in 1983.
Formerly attributed to Aert van der Neer, 1603 or 4-1677.

Inscription:

False monogram inscribed at the lower left in black ink, "AV(in ligature) DN(in ligature". Inscribed on the verso, in graphite, at center, "2238"; and at lower left, "ae".
