Signed at lower left, in black chalk, "D: Maas. F". Inscribed in lower right corner of sheet, in graphite, "K/- and No ["o" in superscript] 18".
Watermark: Rampant lion, holding wheat sheaves and sword, on shield, within a double circle surmounted by a crown, above monogram letters "GVH" (similar to Heawood, no. 3145). Seven Provinces.
