Watermark: eagle within a shield (similar to Heawood 793).
One of the figure groups on the verso may be identified as a study of a hero dying in the arms of Victory and can be compared to the terra-cotta sketch of "Lord Robert Manners Expiring in the Arms of Victory" in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, (repr. Margaret Dickens Whinney, "English Sculpture 1720-1830", London, 1971, no. 36).
