There were two engravers by the name Christian F. Fritzsch working in Hamburg in the 18th century.
There are eight lines of verse under the image: "Des Preüβen-Landes-Haupt ward von zweij Landes-Sonnen, / Die Polens zwietrachs-Geist auf einen Thron gesetzt, / Zu gleich geliebt, gehaβt, bestrahlt, verbrandt, gewonnen, / Und so zu Gleicher Zeit beschützet und verletzet; / Ihr Hoffen ward zur Pein, die Treue zum Verbrechen: / Allein die Providentzergreifft sie beÿ der Hand, / Durch die Gedult und zeit wird ihre Noht gewandt, / Und Wahrheit wilt vor sie ein richtig Urtheil sprechen." A very tentative translation of the inscription on this print is: The Prussian head of the country consisted of two states-suns which Poland's argumentative spirit had put upon one throne, and simultaneously they were loved, hated, beamed upon, burnt, won and thus at the same time protected and hurt; their hope turned to pain, their loyalty to criminality. Only providence took them by the hand and through patience and time their troubles were turned and truth before them wants to speak a correct judgement.
