Provenance:
Formerly owned by Sir Robert Peel.
Inscription:

Inscribed in pencil under design: "very fe[w] printed from this Plate".

Notes:

Watermark: unknown.

Summary:

A satire on Catholicism, probably English. The title is taken from a banner which is held up by one of the figures. A calf dressed in a monk's habit, with rosary, is reminiscent of other Monk Calf images (see Peel 0012 & Peel 0093). Two kings take part in a dance in the center of the design (perhaps representing Louis XIV and James II.)
