Provenance:
Possibly assembled in the 1930s by Morgan Library staff

Summary:
The majority of the prints are of British monarchs from Saxon times to Queen Victoria. In addition to the various engravings of royal personages and their families, which are sometimes in proof states, there are a number of engravings of prominent contemporary figures. There are some contemporary celebratory prints, and some Georgian and Victorian history paintings. A large number of the prints are illustrations from later books and variations of the same prototypes.
