Working proof on India paper of a wood engraving of an illustration by G.J. Pinwell for a short story of the same title, published in Once a week, v. IX, 1863, p. 281.
Working "overlay" proof printed from the two separate unfinished blocks before they were joined, with the impressions from the gratuitous wood remaining between the engraved areas evidently excised for overlay.
