Inscribed on the album page below the design, in brown ink, "Liberali homini volunt omnes quam optimè (title) / At si condolúit tentatúm frigore corpus / Aút aliús casus lecto te affixit, / habes qúi / Assideat, fomenta paret, medicum roget, út te / Suscitat ac reddat natis, carisque propinqúis" (But if your body is seized with a chill and racked with pain, or some other mishap has pinned you to your bed, have you someone to sit with you, to get lotions ready, to call in the doctor so as to raise you up and restore you to your children and dear kinsman?) The text is from Horace, "Satires", Book I, 1, lines 80-83.
