Summary:
A lady stands full-face with an enormous fur muff which conceals her person completely except for her head and shoulders and the edge of her petticoats. On her much extended hair she wears a conical hat trimmed with a monstrous arrangement of ostrich feathers and the tail feathers of (?) a pheasant. Round her neck sprays of roses and other flowers are arranged. Cf. British Museum online catalog.
