Summary:

A stout man [possibly intended as a caricature of Louis Weltje] rides a trotting horse in profile to the right. followed by a dog. He rises from the saddle with his legs thrust forward, pulling hard at the curb with both hands; the snaffle rein lies on the lean horse's neck and the horse raises its head in distress as it defecates. He wears a broad-brimmed round hat and a coat buttoned across his chest by a single button.
