Proposal to erect a museum complex along the Champs-Elyées to celebrate the imperial ambitions of Napoleon III as well as French achievements in arts, literature, science, and colonial aggrandizement; illustrated with a folding plan of the complex and a lithographic plate after a drawing by Barbier of an ornamental fountain with an equestrian statue in his proposed "Place Napoléon".
