Private prayers for selected canonical hours, the sacraments, selected psalms, litany of the Trinity, etc. written in a German cursive hand. Text continued on unbound quire of 10 leaves laid-in at end.
Quires signed A⁶ B⁸ C⁴ D-E⁶ F⁸ G⁶ H⁸ I⁴, separate quire at end unsigned.
Binding:
Bound in alum-tawed calf, cochineal-stained vermilion; tooled in gilt in a floral swag rococo border with corner and side recaille cartouches in a lightly hatched pattern. The owner's name, Rosina Köckhin (i.e. Köck), in gilt capital letters at top of front cover with the umlaut painted on and the date 1783 at the bottom of front cover. Gilt brocade patterned (so-called Dutch gilt) paper endleaves, over silver turn-ins; with original brown calf slip case.
