Binding: 
16th-century French gilt-tooled, strapwork and mosaic calf (brown calf inlaid with red, blue, and black), attributed to the Mansfeld binder (a binder who worked for Peter Ernst Count von Mansfeld (1517-1604), during his captivity at Vincennes, 1552-57). Gilt, gauffered, and painted edges.
