16th-century Italian (Rome) brown morocco gold tooled with foliate ornaments and horizontal medallion at center with Apollo & Pegasus, attributed by Anthony Hobson to Maestro Luigi, a binder who worked for the Vatican Library; Nixon attributed to the Arabesque Binder for a member of the Farnese family.
Provenance: 
The Apollo & Pegasus bindings were previously thought to belong to Demetrio Carnevari or Per Luigi Farnese.
