My Necklace, My Memories
My name is Kelly Chan, and I wrote about a special jade necklace that was passed down in my family through many generations to me. The inspiration of writing about the jade necklace came to me because the color of it brings me happiness and peace. I created the illustrations from what I have learned about China's traditions and culture. The most exciting thing about this project was that we got to make our own paints. We put things like saffron and cochineal insects into the mortar and then ground them up with the pestle. I enjoyed doing this project! I hope you will like my work!
