Drawing evidently created for or after a caricature print.
In ink at bottom left: W. Wingfield / January 1818.
Drawing of a woman playing the piano, at right, accompanied by a man seated at left and playing a large bowed instrument with an oval body which he holds propped upright between his knees, as a man stands in front of him and smiles as he gestures with his thumb and forefinger; two other men attend upon the woman, one of who stands over the piano and waves his hand in the air with evident enthusiasm, while a second man, wearing a wig, sits beside the instrument and appears to be remonstrating with the player. The men are all clad in knee breeches and wear shoes with large, square buckles.
