Each drawing is signed by the artist and inscribed with a title below the image in pen and brown ink, marginal sketches in right and upper margins and brief annotation in upper margin in pencil, "The Boys Book / Irish Pipes"; in pencil on mount at lower right: p. 112.
Drawing shows an Irish rebel, cheering on his comrades as he ineffectually stops the mouth of a British cannon with his hat and wig, with other rebels charging after him, and British soldiers preparing to fire upon the Irish.
