This drawing depicts a speech bubble, a common motif in comic books, and a recurring element throughout Roy Lichtenstein's work. The speech bubble appears to be emitting from his signature, and the exclamatory statement is emphasized by the bubble's pointed edges. This drawing was initially created as a 'blurb' for William Anthony's 1977 book, Bible Stories. Anthony's publisher chose not to include it at that time. When Anthony published Bill Anthony's Greatest Hits in 1988, Lichtenstein agreed to have his drawing reproduced on the back cover, where it is accompanied by the words, "Roy Lichtenstein comments on Bill Anthony's Greatest Hits."
