Drawing shows a group of three men and a woman in seventeenth century dress stand in the aisle of a church. One of the men holds the woman in his arms, as she buries her face against his shoulder. Next to this couple, another man holds up the collapsing figure of a third, gripping him by the upper arms, and below them is a rug visibly stained with blood. In the background, behind this group, stands a priest, looking on, with his hands clasped over his stomach.
