One of 86 portrait sketches of musicians including the likenesses of most of the leading composers, conductors, and instrumentalists of the first half of the twentieth century. All were done from life, and many appeared in Musical America.
Inscription:
Inscribed by the artist in pencil at lower center, "Honegger", signed in pen and black ink at lower left of composition with initial "D.", inscribed in another hand in blue ink at upper right, "Honegger"; various printer's marks on recto and verso.
Provenance:
Mrs. Ellen Dolbin (d. 1974), the artist's widow.
