Notes:
This proposal for Benjamin Wistar Morris's Annex to the Morgan Library shows a view along 36th Street. At left, in the distance, is an 1850s brownstone , now part of the Miorgan campus, with a garden space along Madison Avenue behind the Annex. At far right is a nineteenth century building that was later demolished and the site developed by Samuel Rudin to contain a residential tower that opened in 1950. The focus of the elevation is the relationship between the Annex and the 1906 McKim, Mead, and White Library, with a low wrought iron fence containing the two buildings.
