Watermark: sun face with thirteen rays; partly legible countermark with letters "IMI" separated by hearts within a cartouche (cf. Heawood 3898; Briquet under soleil).

Inscription:

Lettered at lower left, in graphite, "VAN DER MEULEN". Inscribed on verso, at upper left, in an old hand, in graphite, "Vandermeulen No. 64"; in lower right corner, in graphite, "Vandermeulen"; numbered in left corner, "36".
