According to the inscription beneath the drawing on the album page, this minor sketch was attributed to Armenini by an early collector. This is probably a reference to Giovanni Battista Armenini (1530-1609), a painter also known for his treatise De' Veri Precetti della Pittura, first published in 1577. Drawings by this artist remain largely unknown. The attribution to Aliense has been doubted by Bert Meijer, who believes the drawing to be by Palma il Giovane.
The drawing is the left-hand part of album page for which see acc. no. 1993.25.
