Description:

The present sheet was formerly attributed to Raphael’s circle, though it appears to be somewhat later. The lightly drawn nudes on the verso seem to have been made after a live model, seemingly the same figure studied from the side and back. The écorché studies on the recto seem to represent the draftsman’s attempt to visualize the relationship between the skeleton and muscles.
