Signed at lower right, in point of brush and black wash, "WR(in ligature)OMEYN ("N" partially cut off)"; inscribed on the verso, at lower left, in graphite, "9".
Watermark: Horn with strap in a shield (similar to Heawood, no. 2686: England, 1683), Lined drawing shows crossed chain lines of two layers of paper in beta radiograph.
