Signed, dated and inscribed in pen and brown ink by the artist on his decorated mat (9 5/8 x 17 7/16 inches [243 x 442 mm]): below right corner of drawing, "N. Pocock. 1791"; along lower margin, "Appearance of the Land on each Side the harbour of Thorshaven as seen after having pass'd the S. End of Nolroe continued from No. 7"; at lower left corner, No. 7B".
Inscribed in graphite at upper center of drawing, "Thorshaven. S end of Nolroe"; at lower left, "No. 18".
