Christ: Flagellation—Four tormentors, with switches and a scourge, torture Christ, who is shown bound to a column. He has a rayed nimbus, is wearing a short loincloth, and is bleeding. A purple garment is on the floor in the foreground. In the background behind a balustrade, a group of figures gather, many of them carrying spears.
The scene is within a miniature framed by a border decorated with rosaries, including one with a pendant depicting the head of Christ with a rayed nimbus.
