Pseudo-Mearne binding of red goatskin, tooled profusely in gilt to a so-called cottage roof (i.e. split-pediment) design, with the crowned cypher of Charles II (1630-1685) on center and at the cardinal points, with black-painted strapwork; lined in marble paper.
