Bound in cherry-red calf, gilt, with an original engraving on each cover after Devéria, in an upper compartment on center, printed directly from the plate (?) onto the calf, after allegorical scenes from La Fontaine's fables; lower compartments on center with vignette showing the attributes of Diana the Huntress as a stand of arms crowned by a hat bearing the crescent moon, within a baroque border; signed in the bottom rectangular section "Jacotier inv. /1832"; gilt edges and silk endleaves.
