Binding:
17th-century French white silk, with large flowers richly embroidered in colored and metallic threads, beads, and sequins, with elements of the Passion on spine. Orange silk pastedowns and endleaves (vol. I) and striped white silk pastedowns and endleaves (vol. II). Both volumes similarly embroidered with large floral motifs.

Perhaps bound for Louis XIV, modern pencil inscription: "Reliure et brodées Louis XIV" (vol. I, front endleaf); Pierpont Morgan, purchased from Bonaventure, 1906.
