16th-century French calf, gilt and painted in a Grolieresque design over paper boards (23.5 x 16.5 cm), with the arms of Louis de St. Maure, marquis de Nesle (1515-1572), on obverse, and his name "Loys. de Saincte. Mavre. Marqvis. de Neelle." on reverse cover. Gilt and gauffered edges.
