Workshop | The 19th Century Portrait Studio

In this one-day workshop, learn the photographic techniques used by Julia Margaret Cameron in the 19th century. Create wet collodion photographs and learn to use a large-format camera, pour collodion, expose, develop, fix, and varnish a one-of-a-kind tintype. All cameras, chemicals, and materials are included. This program is intended for ages 18+.

Participants will meet at the Morgan’s main entrance at 9:30 AM for an exclusive before-hours tour of the exhibition, followed by an all-day workshop at Penumbra Foundation.
