Shahzia Sikander, Sadia Abbas, Gayatri Gopinath, and Fred Moten
Inspired by the exhibition Shahzia Sikander: Extraordinary Realities, tracking the first fifteen years of Sikander's artistic journey, join the artist for a virtual conversation exploring how the themes of gender, sexuality, race, class, and history featured in her early work have evolved and remain relevant today. The panel moderated by Sadia Abbas, Director of the Center of European Studies at Rutgers University, will feature the MacArthur Fellow and artist Shahzia Sikander in conversation with Gayatri Gopinath, Director of the Center for the Study of Gender & Sexuality at New York University, and Fred Moten, Poet and Professor in the Department of Performance Studies at New York University.
