Storytelling in the Historic Library
2–2:20 p.m.
3–3:20 p.m.

Join performer, educator, and storyteller Tom Lee for a twenty-minute interactive storytelling experience in the historic library. Listen to stories of sea adventures inspired by the Greek myths found in the Morgan’s historic rooms and Cy Twombly's Naumackia.

Tom Lee has told stories professionally for thirty years. His interest in traditional stories began while he was working as a cook in a tiny fishing village in Scotland. Tom's first storytelling performances were tales from Grimm, told in the London pub theater called, appropriately, "The Man in the Moon."

In the United States, Tom has worked in classrooms with children of all ages. "When it comes to stories," he says, "children have taught me everything I know." Tom is roster artist with Arts for Learning, Connecticut and a frequent guest artist at The Metropolitan Opera Education Conference, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and The Yale Center for British Art.

Tom has appeared at the National Storytelling Center in Jonesborough, Tennessee as a featured festival artist, a workshop leader, and as teller-in-residence.

Tom Lee lives in Bloomfield, Connecticut, where he cooks without fear and gardens overambitiously.
