Join us on site for an evening of history, art-making, and one of kind hands-on experiences.
Discover some of the Morgan’s finest medieval and Renaissance manuscripts and explore how books were made before the printing press. You will use traditional materials to grind natural materials into pigments, mix watercolor paints, apply 22-karat gold leaf, and create an original painted initial inspired by the Morgan’s manuscript collection.
Participants are also invited to apply early for the 25–26 Morgan Book Project, a free extended learning program for your students. Classes accepted to the Morgan Book Project will enjoy two free field trips, complementary pigments and artmaking materials, and learn how to write, illustrate, and build their own original accordion books.
This workshop is intended only for NYC Title 1 and D75 teachers and administrators of grades 3–12. This event is eligible for 2 CTLE credits. Participation is free but requires registration.
