Spanish tan calf (162 x 110 mm), ca. 1560s, ruled in blind and tooled in black, broad line flanked by fillets around sides, inner rectangular frame of single fillet with large rose and leaves at outer angles and smaller tulip bulb at inner angles, in center a crowned eagle facing left with a rose above and below, spine in four compartments with three full bands, compartments with large rose tool, plain endpapers, plain edges, fore-edge titled horizontally in ink LVCII | FLORI | EPITOME | et | POLIBII | Historia and with the arms of Lope de Vega.
