Summary:
Print shows Burke sporting a pair of demonic horns and carrying a large crucifix labeled "Charges", standing at the foot of a bed, at left, in which Warren Hastings lies, surrounded by demons with the features of Pitt, Fox, and two others, who urge upon him various tools for committing suicide, including a noose, gun, knife, and cup of poison; a demon (Philip Francis) at far left holds a pair of giant spectacles before Hasting's eyes, saying "If guilty of these represented crimes consequent reflection were worse then Death"; at right, a crowd of accusing ghosts appear in a mist, and on the wall a picture hangs with the title "Trial's end / Doomsday".
